Reconstructive plastic surgery intends to replace form and function which has been lost through accidents, illness or after treatment of illness for example cancer operations. This technique is to move tissue from one part of the body to another where tissue receives nourishment in the new area after the circulation is replaced surgically by stitching the blood vessels together.
