Breast reconstruction

Many women are scared to be disfigured or that parts or one breast may be removed for example as a part of cancer treatment. This leads often to desires to recreate the breast.

A couple of methods for breast reconstruction are described. The choices are done in consultation with the patient and according to her individual desires and conditions.

(Fri lambå)

Here the patients own tissue is used to create the new breast. In the cases shown here the tissue comes from the lower part of the abdominal. The new blood circulation comes from vessels in the arm pit.

The two pictures that show the results are taken approx. 6 weeks after the defective breast has been removed.

This is the method primarily we recommend.

(Bröstväggslambå with proteases)

A corner of tissue is lifted up from the chest and is moved to create excess of skin on the area where the new breast will be placed. After this a proteases is placed under the (lambå) to create volume.

The picture shows the result of a approx. one year old surgery where the defective breast has been removed.

Expanderproteases

The first picture shows a women before a cancer surgery and the other two images are the results a couple of months later.

This is the simplest method but there are disadvantages in regards to the result in the long run and also do to eventual radiation treatment.
