The Shamá method™

The Shamá method has several main applications:
Scar treatment, other skin damages, for example burn injury and permanent make-up.

Shamim Malik has during 20 years successfully refined and developed the method and it is originally based on micropigmentation.

When you first come to us, we meet for a consultation. This is an important step that gives the opportunity to:

  • Then you can ask questions and get answers about the treatment
  • We give relevant information regarding the treatment
  • A treatment plan is assessed along your needs and circumstances (eg anatomy).
  • Together they consider a budget and number of treatments.
  • This is an important element because each person's scars are unique. Which depends on the wearer's scar complexity, skin type, age and psychological stress. To ensure that we provide adequate treatment, it is important that we include these factors.

Note! We cannot perform a consultation per telephone or e-mail. We need to meet you in person. In case you live far away from the clinic, we may arrange some exchange of photos of the scar, to at least be able to give some indication of what can be done. Otherwise, please call us in order to book a consultation.

The treatment should be only performed by well educated personal with an experience and good knowledge of the Shama-method, (including knowledge of anatomy, skincare combined with an artistic touch.)

Shamá Scar Treatment:

  • is a work of precision which best can be compared with careful restoration of precious art.
  • has shown to be a very mild and reliable way of treatment.
  • improve form and color
  • is used both for reconstructive (scar treatment) and cosmetic purposes (permanent make-up)

On daily clinical bases Shamim Malik has worked with her many years of experience in different parallel levels with scar treatments. It is partially one the level to treat the scars, in other words physically but also mentally. It is about how to meet the client’s expectations, notions of the result of treatment and the mental healing process. This is the actual humanitarian essence of the treatment.

The Shamá-method is scientifically recognised. It is for the individual a mild method of treatment to camouflage scars and pigment defects which have appeared caused by damage, disease or surgical procedure. Scars caused by selfdestructive behaviour is a vast problem amongst youths. These patients can even after the cease of selfdestructive behaviour remain stigmatized and often need both psychological support and some form of scar-correcting treatment.

The consultation before treatment is of outmost importance to ensure that, already at the planning stage, the biological and anatomical conditions are taken into account. All treatment in the clinic has the purpose to improve the patient’s wellbeing and quality of life.

Even in regards to reconstructive pigmentation there is a consistent and dynamical development of work together with doctors from different areas of specialities and university hospitals.

To help young adolescents with an effective and quick treatment method is not only humanitarian but also an action towards economical savings to society. Skin transplantation is a way which is used in the official health care but does sometimes cause another non acceptable scar conditioning or lacking of colour matching around the skin area.

Shamá-method has been practiced and developed by caring for clients who have skin damages from accidents, abusive treatment, burn damages, tumours, congenital defects and scars after conventional surgical procedures from for example thorax surgery. The treatment of these external injuries, post surgical scars and disfigurements demands surgical craftsmanship and also additional procedures. It is often insuffient to only replace the function of the body. Disfigured physical conditions often affects the patients self confidence and way of life. A combination of the function and the aesthetic aspects is the aim to ease the patients suffering pain.

    Permanent make up

Cosmetic pigmentation of lips, eyebrows and eyeliner demands availability of many different colours to be suitable for all clients, while with reconstructive pigmentation, the goal is more to match different skin tones.

After 20 years of documented work and thousands of treatments, the pigmentation has not caused an allergic reaction. This is primarily because all colours are organic and allergy tested.

The Shamá method has achieved international recognition for its extraordinary good results of treatments and the high reliability of the method has through the years been presented at medical seminars and several international surgical congresses for example
